A beautiful video about chocolatiers the Mast Brothers. Passionate about the craft of chocolate making, they share the creative process that embodies their work. The artisanship and traditional skills employed in each individual bar of chocolate just warms my heart. Their integrity inspires me no end and I'm fairly sure their chocolate tastes amazing.
Illustration firm Visual Anatomy have a novel approach to chocolate. The firm not only supplies anatomically correct medical illustrations but also chocolates shaped like human body parts and organs. The spookily accurate range includes choccy brains, luscious livers and confectionery lungs. What a madcap idea!
Roger Overall has written a very interesting and informative post about sweet makers Dan and Tony Linehan of Shandon Sweets. Based in Cork the father and son team are unique in today's automated age in that they still produce their sweets by hand. The company has been in existence since 1928 when Dan's father set up shop in the the same building that Shandon Sweets operates from today.
Roger has illustrated the sweet making process with his excellent photography. Read the full post here. CorkFood.ie is edited and curated by Roger Overall, professional photographer, filmmaker and blogger with a big interest in food.
I'm a graphic designer and illustrator with chocolate making in my ancestry. This blog helped me keep track of progress on the "Sweet Memories" project. Many people have kindly given me time, inspiration and personal anecdotes that have been instrumental in creating the project to date. Many thanks to you!
